The Tag Groups plugin for WordPress versions prior to 2.2.0 is vulnerable due to improper escaping of an AJAX parameter, enabling unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browsers of logged-in users with Editor or higher permissions. This could lead to significant security risks, including session hijacking or unauthorized actions within the WordPress admin interface. WordPress site administrators, particularly those managing user roles with elevated permissions, should prioritize updating this plugin to mitigate potential exploitation.
