CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedThe vulnerability in the Linux kernel affects the ACPICA component, specifically in the `acpi_ex_opcode_3A_1T_1R()` function, where an integer overflow can occur due to insufficient checks on the Index and Length parameters. This flaw could lead to negative size parameters being passed to `memcpy()`, potentially resulting in memory corruption or crashes. Linux system administrators and developers utilizing affected kernel versions should prioritize applying the fix to mitigate risks associated with this vulnerability.
Original NVD Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPICA: Fix integer overflow in acpi_ex_opcode_3A_1T_1R() (mid_op) Add overflow check for Index + Length to prevent integer overflow when calculating the truncation length. This prevents negative size parameter being passed to memcpy().
