CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedThe Botiga Pro WordPress plugin prior to version 1.6.5 is vulnerable due to a lack of authorization checks on a REST route, enabling unauthenticated users to update WordPress options and execute arbitrary web scripts on the site. This flaw can lead to privilege escalation, site takeover, and the ability to manipulate content, posing significant risks to site integrity and security. WordPress site administrators using this plugin should prioritize immediate updates to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
Original NVD Description
The Botiga Pro WordPress plugin before 1.6.5 does not perform any authorisation checks on one of its REST routes, allowing unauthenticated users to update arbitrary WordPress options with arbitrary values, which could lead to privilege escalation and a full site takeover. The same route also allows unauthenticated users to store arbitrary web scripts which are then executed on every page of the site's front end, as well as to move arbitrary posts to the trash.
