CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedA vulnerability exists in the multicluster-global-hub's manager component, which fails to properly validate the source identity of incoming CloudEvents on Kafka status topics. This flaw allows a remote attacker, who has compromised a managed hub and obtained its Kafka client certificate, to manipulate the source identity, potentially falsifying or deleting critical data related to compliance, inventory, and cluster health across other hubs. Organizations using this product should prioritize remediation to protect against data integrity issues and potential compliance violations.
Original NVD Description
A flaw was found in multicluster-global-hub. The manager component improperly validates the source identity of incoming CloudEvents on Kafka status topics. A remote attacker, after compromising a managed hub and obtaining its Kafka client certificate, can manipulate the self-asserted source identity. This allows the attacker to falsify or delete critical data, such as compliance, inventory, and cluster health information, belonging to other hubs in the database.
