CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedCertain older Linux-based laptops with the Uniwill platform are vulnerable due to a flaw that allows users to enable a battery charging limit, which can lead to permanent battery damage. This issue arises from the kernel's handling of the charging limit feature, which should be disabled to prevent hardware failure. Organizations using these affected models should prioritize this vulnerability to protect their hardware investments and ensure operational reliability.
Original NVD Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: uniwill-laptop: Do not enable the charging limit even when forced It seems that on some older models (~2020) the battery charging limit can permanently damage the battery. Prevent users from enabling this feature thru the "force" module parameter to avoid causing permanent hardware damage on such devices.
