CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedThe OTP Login With Phone Number, OTP Verification plugin for WordPress prior to version 1.8.71 is vulnerable due to its lack of restrictions on OTP verification attempts, allowing unauthenticated users to request login codes for any account. This flaw enables attackers to brute-force short numeric OTPs, potentially leading to unauthorized access to user accounts, including those of administrators. WordPress site administrators using this plugin should prioritize updating to the latest version to mitigate the risk of account takeover.
Original NVD Description
The OTP Login With Phone Number, OTP Verification WordPress plugin before 1.8.71 does not limit the number of OTP verification attempts or invalidate a one-time login code after a wrong guess, and an unauthenticated user can request a login code for any account. Because the code is a short numeric OTP, an attacker can brute-force it and take over any account, including an administrator's.
