CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedImageMagick versions prior to 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 are susceptible to a memory leak in the GIF encoder, where memory is not properly released if color quantization fails during the encoding process. This vulnerability can be exploited by attackers to degrade system availability through repeated GIF conversion attempts, leading to increased memory consumption. Organizations utilizing ImageMagick for image processing should prioritize addressing this issue to mitigate potential performance impacts.

Original NVD Description
ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a memory leak in the GIF encoder because allocated memory is not released when color quantization fails during encoding. Attackers can supply images whose GIF conversion causes quantization to fail, leaking memory with each attempt and degrading availability.
