CyberRota Analysis
AI-GeneratedOpenClaw versions prior to 2026.8.1 are susceptible to a resource exhaustion vulnerability in the Gateway listener, enabling unauthenticated clients to send malformed WebSocket upgrade requests that can deplete listener resources. This can lead to a denial of service, as attackers can exploit this flaw without affecting the WebSocket pre-auth connection budget. Organizations using affected versions should prioritize patching to mitigate the risk of service disruption.
Public Exploit Signal

Original NVD Description
OpenClaw versions before 2026.8.1 contain a resource exhaustion vulnerability in the Gateway listener that allows unauthenticated clients to retain response sockets by sending WebSocket upgrade requests without matching connection semantics. Attackers can repeatedly send malformed upgrade requests to exhaust listener resources and cause denial of service without consuming the WebSocket pre-auth connection budget.
