| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: qcom: dispcc-sm6350: Add missing parent_map for a clock If a clk_rcg2 has a parent, it should also have parent_map defined, otherwise we'll get a NULL pointer dereference when calling clk_set_rate like the following: [ 3.388105] Call trace: [ 3.390664] qcom_find_src_index+0x3c/0x70 (P) [ 3.395301] qcom_find_src_index+0x1c/0x70 (L) [ 3.399934] _freq_tbl_determine_rate+0x48/0x100 [ 3.404753] clk_rcg2_determine_rate+0x1c/0x28 [ 3.409387] clk_core_determine_round_nolock+0x58/0xe4 [ 3.421414] clk_core_round_rate_nolock+0x48/0xfc [ 3.432974] clk_core_round_rate_nolock+0xd0/0xfc [ 3.444483] clk_core_set_rate_nolock+0x8c/0x300 [ 3.455886] clk_set_rate+0x38/0x14c Add the parent_map property for the clock where it's missing and also un-inline the parent_data as well to keep the matching parent_map and parent_data together. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: uvcvideo: Fix crash during unbind if gpio unit is in use We used the wrong device for the device managed functions. We used the usb device, when we should be using the interface device. If we unbind the driver from the usb interface, the cleanup functions are never called. In our case, the IRQ is never disabled. If an IRQ is triggered, it will try to access memory sections that are already free, causing an OOPS. We cannot use the function devm_request_threaded_irq here. The devm_* clean functions may be called after the main structure is released by uvc_delete. Luckily this bug has small impact, as it is only affected by devices with gpio units and the user has to unbind the device, a disconnect will not trigger this error. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: misc_minor_alloc to use ida for all dynamic/misc dynamic minors misc_minor_alloc was allocating id using ida for minor only in case of MISC_DYNAMIC_MINOR but misc_minor_free was always freeing ids using ida_free causing a mismatch and following warn: > > WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 159 at lib/idr.c:525 ida_free+0x3e0/0x41f > > ida_free called for id=127 which is not allocated. > > <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< ... > > [<60941eb4>] ida_free+0x3e0/0x41f > > [<605ac993>] misc_minor_free+0x3e/0xbc > > [<605acb82>] misc_deregister+0x171/0x1b3 misc_minor_alloc is changed to allocate id from ida for all minors falling in the range of dynamic/ misc dynamic minors |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: soc-pcm: don't use soc_pcm_ret() on .prepare callback commit 1f5664351410 ("ASoC: lower "no backend DAIs enabled for ... Port" log severity") ignores -EINVAL error message on common soc_pcm_ret(). It is used from many functions, ignoring -EINVAL is over-kill. The reason why -EINVAL was ignored was it really should only be used upon invalid parameters coming from userspace and in that case we don't want to log an error since we do not want to give userspace a way to do a denial-of-service attack on the syslog / diskspace. So don't use soc_pcm_ret() on .prepare callback is better idea. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: qcom: gcc-sm6350: Add missing parent_map for two clocks If a clk_rcg2 has a parent, it should also have parent_map defined, otherwise we'll get a NULL pointer dereference when calling clk_set_rate like the following: [ 3.388105] Call trace: [ 3.390664] qcom_find_src_index+0x3c/0x70 (P) [ 3.395301] qcom_find_src_index+0x1c/0x70 (L) [ 3.399934] _freq_tbl_determine_rate+0x48/0x100 [ 3.404753] clk_rcg2_determine_rate+0x1c/0x28 [ 3.409387] clk_core_determine_round_nolock+0x58/0xe4 [ 3.421414] clk_core_round_rate_nolock+0x48/0xfc [ 3.432974] clk_core_round_rate_nolock+0xd0/0xfc [ 3.444483] clk_core_set_rate_nolock+0x8c/0x300 [ 3.455886] clk_set_rate+0x38/0x14c Add the parent_map property for two clocks where it's missing and also un-inline the parent_data as well to keep the matching parent_map and parent_data together. |

| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: tegra - do not transfer req when tegra init fails The tegra_cmac_init or tegra_sha_init function may return an error when memory is exhausted. It should not transfer the request when they return an error. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Grab intel_display from the encoder to avoid potential oopsies Grab the intel_display from 'encoder' rather than 'state' in the encoder hooks to avoid the massive footgun that is intel_sanitize_encoder(), which passes NULL as the 'state' argument to encoder .disable() and .post_disable(). TODO: figure out how to actually fix intel_sanitize_encoder()... |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dpu: check dpu_plane_atomic_print_state() for valid sspp Similar to the r_pipe sspp protect, add a check to protect the pipe state prints to avoid NULL ptr dereference for cases when the state is dumped without a corresponding atomic_check() where the pipe->sspp is assigned. The verifier has ensured GFP_KERNEL is passed only in sleepable context. It has been an old issue since the first introduction of the bpf_local_storage ~5 years ago, so this patch targets the bpf-next. bpf_mem_alloc is needed to solve it, so the Fixes tag is set to the commit when bpf_mem_alloc was first used in the bpf_local_storage. |

| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rtlwifi: fix memory leaks and invalid access at probe error path Deinitialize at reverse order when probe fails. When init_sw_vars fails, rtl_deinit_core should not be called, specially now that it destroys the rtl_wq workqueue. And call rtl_pci_deinit and deinit_sw_vars, otherwise, memory will be leaked. Remove pci_set_drvdata call as it will already be cleaned up by the core driver code and could lead to memory leaks too. cf. commit 8d450935ae7f ("wireless: rtlwifi: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()") and commit 3d86b93064c7 ("rtlwifi: Fix PCI probe error path orphaned memory"). |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: avoid NULL pointer dereference When iterating over the links of a vif, we need to make sure that the pointer is valid (in other words - that the link exists) before dereferncing it. Use for_each_vif_active_link that also does the check. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: prohibit deactivating all links In the internal API this calls this is a WARN_ON, but that should remain since internally we want to know about bugs that may cause this. Prevent deactivating all links in the debugfs write directly. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: uvcvideo: Fix deadlock during uvc_probe If uvc_probe() fails, it can end up calling uvc_status_unregister() before uvc_status_init() is called. Fix this by checking if dev->status is NULL or not in uvc_status_unregister(). |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubifs: skip dumping tnc tree when zroot is null Clearing slab cache will free all znode in memory and make c->zroot.znode = NULL, then dumping tnc tree will access c->zroot.znode which cause null pointer dereference. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: convert workqueues to unbound When a workqueue is created with `WQ_UNBOUND`, its work items are served by special worker-pools, whose host workers are not bound to any specific CPU. In the default configuration (i.e. when `queue_delayed_work` and friends do not specify which CPU to run the work item on), `WQ_UNBOUND` allows the work item to be executed on any CPU in the same node of the CPU it was enqueued on. While this solution potentially sacrifices locality, it avoids contention with other processes that might dominate the CPU time of the processor the work item was scheduled on. This is not just a theoretical problem: in a particular scenario misconfigured process was hogging most of the time from CPU0, leaving less than 0.5% of its CPU time to the kworker. The IDPF workqueues that were using the kworker on CPU0 suffered large completion delays as a result, causing performance degradation, timeouts and eventual system crash. * I have also run a manual test to gauge the performance improvement. The test consists of an antagonist process (`./stress --cpu 2`) consuming as much of CPU 0 as possible. This process is run under `taskset 01` to bind it to CPU0, and its priority is changed with `chrt -pQ 9900 10000 ${pid}` and `renice -n -20 ${pid}` after start. Then, the IDPF driver is forced to prefer CPU0 by editing all calls to `queue_delayed_work`, `mod_delayed_work`, etc... to use CPU 0. Finally, `ktraces` for the workqueue events are collected. Without the current patch, the antagonist process can force arbitrary delays between `workqueue_queue_work` and `workqueue_execute_start`, that in my tests were as high as `30ms`. With the current patch applied, the workqueue can be migrated to another unloaded CPU in the same node, and, keeping everything else equal, the maximum delay I could see was `6us`. |

| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix handling of received connection abort Fix the handling of a connection abort that we've received. Though the abort is at the connection level, it needs propagating to the calls on that connection. Whilst the propagation bit is performed, the calls aren't then woken up to go and process their termination, and as no further input is forthcoming, they just hang. Also add some tracing for the logging of connection aborts. |
| 1mo ago | 5.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table The function atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table() does not check the return value of smu_atom_get_data_table(). If smu_atom_get_data_table() fails to retrieve SMU_Info table, it returns NULL which is later dereferenced. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE. In practice this should never happen as this code only gets called on polaris chips and the vbios data table will always be present on those chips. |
